Founder
As a strong advocate of equitable education, Edwina Williams founded Project LIKE (Literacy Is Knowledge Empowerment) in 2016 to provide youth from disproportionately impacted populations with access to free global literacy resources and support. In 2010, Edwina graduated from MiraCosta College with an AA degree in Psychology. She has since earned a BA in Psychology in 2012 and a MA in Sociological Practice from California State University San Marcos in 2015. After the completion of her master’s degree program, Edwina entered a yearlong faculty internship program between the San Diego/Imperial County Community College Association (SDICCCA) and San Diego State University. This internship ultimately led to an associate faculty position in the Sociology Department at MiraCosta College where she was awarded a North County Higher Education Alliance (NCHEA) Collaboration Grant in 2016 to implement Project LIKE at various non-profit and public agencies in North County San Diego.
